WordPress Service
Rescue & Repair
Your site shows a white screen, an "error establishing a database connection", or it simply broke after the last update? Perhaps your host upgraded PHP and half the plugins gave up. Or worse, Google warns visitors that your site has been hacked.
Don't panic, and don't start deleting things. This is how we get your site back:
Access: you give us temporary access to your WordPress admin and hosting.
Diagnosis: we find out what actually went wrong, rather than guessing.
Quote: you get a fixed price before any work starts. No surprises.
Repair: we fix the cause, not just the symptom, and clean up any malware with it.
Report: you get a short, plain-English summary of what happened and how to prevent it.
Typical repairs cost between £60 and £180. Hacked sites take longer, because every file and the database have to be checked.
Speed-Up & Plugin Diet
Many WordPress sites are slow for the same reason: years of plugins, each adding its own scripts, styles and database queries. A page builder on top, and even a simple page loads like a heavy web app.
We measure where the time goes, then slim the site down:
remove plugins that are no longer needed or duplicate each other
replace heavy plugins with lean, purpose-built code where it makes sense
compress images, trim fonts and unused CSS and JavaScript
set up caching properly, once, instead of three plugins fighting over it
You get before and after scores, so you can see the difference rather than take our word for it. A faster site is also a better-ranked site: page speed is part of how Google judges it.
Security Hardening
Over 90% of WordPress vulnerabilities are found in plugins, not in WordPress itself. Every plugin you install is code from another developer running on your site, and not all of them are maintained.
Plugin and theme audit: which ones are outdated, abandoned or known to be vulnerable
Hardened configuration: file permissions, login protection, and turning off what you don't use
Ongoing monitoring: vulnerability alerts for the plugins you run
Safer alternatives: where a plugin is risky, we recommend a better-maintained one or replace it with our own code
No security measure is absolute. But a well-maintained site with few, carefully chosen plugins is a far less attractive and vulnerable target than the average one.
Admin Clean-Up
Notices, upgrade banners and a menu that grows with every plugin: after a few years, many WordPress dashboards are a maze. We tidy it up. Unnecessary menu items go, nagging notices are switched off, and staff who only edit content get a simple editor account that shows them only what they need.
Accessibility & Privacy Check
Can every visitor use your site, including people with screen readers or who navigate by keyboard? And which other companies' servers does your site contact when someone opens a page? We check both, explain what we find in plain English, and fix what needs fixing.
Custom Plugins & Integrations
Sometimes the best plugin is the one written for exactly your requirement: a booking process, a connection to your CRM or accounting software, an import from your supplier, a function no plugin offers. With 25 years of PHP development behind us, we write lean, secure, maintainable code instead of adding another all-in-one plugin.
Update Service
WordPress, themes and plugins need regular updates, and an update occasionally breaks something. If you'd rather not deal with it yourself, we do it for you. £400 per year.
regular updates of WordPress, themes and plugins
urgent security updates as soon as they're released
a full backup before every update
restoration of your site if an update fails
minor fixes up to one hour included
Larger problems are quoted separately; your site is restored to its last working state in the meantime.
No lock-in: your site and all your data remain yours. The service can be cancelled at any time, and you're free to take your site to anyone else, whenever you like.
